Cookies Policy
Which cookies we use, what they actually do, and how to turn off the ones you don't want.
This page explains how IttechBasics uses cookies on ittechbasicsiptv.tv — what they are, which ones we set, and what you can do about them. If you want the bigger picture on how we handle your data, our Privacy Policy has you covered.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that land on your device when you visit a website. They're not harmful. They don't know who you are personally. They just help the site remember things — like whether you've already dismissed the cookie banner — so you're not answering the same questions on every visit.
There are two kinds. Session cookies delete themselves when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stick around for a set period, or until you clear them yourself.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We keep it to what we actually need:
- Making the site work — the free trial form, the pricing toggle, the mobile menu. None of it runs without essential cookies.
- Remembering that you've already set your cookie preferences, so we don't keep asking.
- Understanding which pages people find useful so we can improve them (analytics). All aggregated — we can't trace it back to you.
- Showing relevant promotions to people who've shown interest (marketing cookies). We only do this if you say yes.
3. The Cookies We Set
Essential Cookies
You can't opt out of these — they're what keeps the site running. Without them, the free trial form won't submit and the mobile menu won't open. They're the bare minimum.
| Cookie Name | What It Does | How Long |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent |
Records your cookie choice so we don't keep asking | 1 year (localStorage) |
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get traction and where people leave. It's all aggregated — there's no way to trace it back to any individual. These are only set after you click Accept on the consent banner.
| Cookie Name | What It Does | How Long |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics — tells separate visits apart | 2 years |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics — tracks session state | 2 years |
Third-Party Cookies
If you follow a payment link to PayPal or Stripe, those providers may set their own cookies on their sites. We've got no control over those. Check their privacy policies if you want the full details.
4. How to Control Your Cookies
When you first land on the site, a banner gives you a clear yes or no on non-essential cookies. You can change that answer any time — here's how.
Reset your preference
Hit the button below. It clears your stored choice and the consent banner comes back on your next page load — pick again from scratch.
Your browser settings
You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser too. Here's where to look:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Worth knowing: blocking all cookies may break some parts of the site.
Opt out of Google Analytics
If you'd rather Google Analytics not track you anywhere online, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Updates to This Policy
We'll update this page if we change how we use cookies or if the rules shift. The "Last updated" date at the top always shows when we last made a change. Worth checking back occasionally.
